My love for music photography started mid-highschool by combining two of my favorite things at the time (music and photography, obvi). I was always going to shows all around DC, and decided to start reaching out to bands for a photo pass in return for free photos. To my surprise, it worked out most of the time, and it didn’t hurt that I already had tickets to the shows anyways— but I became obsessed. It felt so freeing to be doing this at 16 years old, and I loved to capture each artist’s unique stage presence. I have my step-dad to thank for this; he not only introduced me to so many bands that I love today, but he also introduced me to photography in general. He came with me to shows, and also took me to Bonnaroo and Okeechobee on our family reunions there. We would photograph festivals together, and he always gave me so many tips + tricks, or held a good spot for me. He was one of my biggest supporters, and every time I’m at a concert, I think about how fun it was to be with him in the pit.
